Fujitsu Philippines Inc. (FPI), one of the country’s leading Information and Communications Technology (ICT) system integrators, marks another milestone as it recently celebrated its 45th anniversary.
Fujitsu Philippines marks 45th year of ‘Shaping Tomorrow’
In its 45th year, Fujitsu Philippines expressed its commitment to strengthening its presence in the country through its offerings, spanning from devices to ICT solutions and services.
Raul “Cricket” Santiago, CEO and President of FPI, shares that their partners and customers, as well as other organizations, can only expect greater things from Fujitsu as it stays true to its promise of “Shaping Tomorrow with You.”
“In the next couple of months, we anticipate the rise of “new normal” brought about by the current pandemic situation. As we celebrate another milestone, Fujitsu aims to continue helping businesses in the Philippines as they take on these new challenges,” said Santiago.
Fujitsu first entered the Philippine market when in 1963. A four-man team of Fujitsu engineers came here to install a Fujitsu Automatic Computer (FACOM) Model 212 system at the Philippine Bureau of Customs. It was a landmark in the brand’s history since it was the first Fujitsu computer installation outside Japan. Several other computer systems were soon installed, through the sales efforts of trading companies and local distributors.
With its early successes in the Philippines, Fujitsu decided to start up its formal operations into the country. A joint venture company was thus organized in 1975 as FACOM Computers Philippines, Inc., which was subsequently renamed to Fujitsu Philippines, Inc. in 1983.
From its original mission of promoting, selling, and supporting the Fujitsu-branded computer hardware line, FPI has since developed into an enabler that helps businesses transform digitally through its ICT solutions and services.
To date, Fujitsu is now present in different locations across the country, including Manila, Cebu, Davao, Sta. Rosa in Laguna, as well as its recently opened office in Clark in Pampanga. The company also has over five hundred full-time Filipino technology professionals. As one of the highlights of its 45th-anniversary celebration, the employees who have been in the service for 10, 15, 20, and 25 years were given awards and recognition.
“Our hardworking employees have helped Fujitsu become what it is today. With their expertise, we can apply best-of-breed technology solutions to assist our customers in solving complex business problems,” said Santiago.
The company’s local knowledge comes from its nearly five decades of operations in the country, while its global expertise comes from our affiliation with Fujitsu Ltd. of Japan, an international leader in computers, telecommunication, electronic components, software, and services.
By leveraging the collective expertise, experience, and work ethics of its workforce, FPI has established a track record in designing, building, implementing, and maintaining ICT solutions, especially in difficult projects with complex technology architectures, nationwide geographic scope, and tight implementation schedules.
